Masala Chips (Snack)
Masala chips are what happens when a good plain chip puts on its evening clothes. Under the coat it is the same crisp potato chip we sell plain; over it sits a tangy spice blend that wakes the whole slice up. The tang leads, the salt follows, and the bowl empties in the order it was filled. At Rs 500 for 500g and Rs 1,000 for 1kg, ready to eat, this is our tea time and movie night chip, the one people reorder by name.
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| Masala chips, 500g | Rs 500 |
| Masala chips, 1kg | Rs 1,000 |
| Plain chips, 1kg | Rs 1,000 |
| Finger chips masala, 1kg | Rs 1,000 |
The street style plate, at home
Served as they are, masala chips need nothing. But there is a two-minute upgrade worth knowing: spread them on a plate, squeeze lemon over the top, scatter finely chopped onion and a few green chillies, and you have the street corner plate without leaving the house. The lemon sharpens the tang of the coating instead of doubling it, which is why it works. For a mixed table, put this bowl next to the plain chips and watch both empty, the masala one a little faster. Our nimko collection covers the rest of a full snack spread.
Keeping the crunch
The masala coat does not protect a chip from damp air; if anything it drinks moisture faster. Once opened, shift the chips into a dry airtight jar, keep it away from the steam side of the kitchen and out of sunlight, and close the lid after every serving. With the kilo pack, decant what the week needs and keep the remainder sealed. Serve small bowls and refill, rather than leaving a full plate sitting out through a long film.
Questions we hear at the counter
What is the masala chips price in Pakistan? Rs 1,000 for 1kg and Rs 500 for 500g at WD Foods.
Are they very spicy? The blend is tangy first. It is spiced for flavour rather than built as a heat challenge, and children in our own families eat them happily. If your table prefers no spice at all, the plain chips are the same chip without the coat.
Do I fry them before serving? No. They are ready to eat from the packet.
